Chae Myung-Sook
paperwork and painting, South Korea
|
Some themes in her relatively minimalist work are: water, earth, seed, the soul, love, passion and fire. She works with paper, incising it, punching it, piercing it, etching or using other print techniques on it, embossing it, and painting on or staining it. Her use of precision and division is a means of meditation and research for discovering new forms.
