Dawning
To the quiet cup of the heart
Comes the dawn.
To fill that vessel
With luminous light,
Transcendent verse,
Murmurous prayer.
And as if by His grace,
It becomes glass-like and
rose-garden fair-
Would not the heft of its
quickened beat
Shatter heart's wall
Resound in air?
Each pulse
Beat spilling
the gathered light
Each breath
beat finding reunion nearer?
