BAHA'I ADHERENTS CELEBRATE DATE Lusaka

THE Baha'i community in Zambia will on November 12 join other international Baha'i communities all over the world in commemorating the 182nd anniversary of the birth of Baha'ullah, the founder of the Baha'i faith.

William Nkausu, from the Baha'i information centre in Lusaka said in a statement that the Baha'i community in Zambia would join others to commemorate 182nd anniversary of their founder because it believes in his vision that the world was but one country, and people its citizens.

The Baha'i community in Zambia has embarked upon programmes of social and economic development based upon unflinching faith in uplifting spiritual and physical welfare of people in the country.

Mr. Nkausu said the Baha'i faith was confident that as the next century approaches, the foundations of unity would be elevated to a stage of interdependence and cooperation between all nations on the earth.

Bahai's have been in Zambia since 1952 and believe that over the past decades they have helped to forge unity in the country and provide spiritual impetus and moral leadership to community life.

As part of its programme the faith will hold an open house between November 11 and 12 at its Headquarters in Lusaka. In addition there will be a pubolic meeting on the evening of Monday - November 11 to be attended all well wishers.
