2/16/99: AIDS Memorial Service at Yale

New Haven, Conn. -- Yale University will host a multifaith AIDS memorial service on Thursday, Feb. 18, at 5 p.m. in Battell Chapel, corner of College and Elm streets.

At the memorial service, members of the University and New Haven communities will gather together to remember those who have died of AIDS and those whose lives have been touched by the disease. The service is free and the public is welcome. It will include prayers, chants, readings, speakers, and song from Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Baha'i, and other traditions, religious and non-religious. The event will conclude with the lighting of candles.

Sponsoring organizations are the Yale University Chaplain's Office, the Student AIDS Educators, Yale Religious Ministry, and the AIDS Resource and Counseling Center at University Health Services.
