ORANGE COUNTY FILE
Baha'i Faith to Honor Intergroup Harmony
By CHRISTINE CASTRO

Rabbi Bernie King of Congregation Shir Ha-Ma'alot in Irvine is one of three honorees at the 2nd annual Models of Unity award ceremony June 12. The event, hosted by the Baha'i faith, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Aliso Viejo Public Library.
The Models of Unity award is given to community leaders or organizations encouraging interfaith unity and cooperation. The awards were conceived to counter the media attention given to intergroup conflict with examples of multicultural harmony and unity in the community.
King has devoted his life to interfaith dialogue and multicultural understanding. He helped to launch his congregation's "Adopt-a-School Program" in Santa Ana, and was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year award from the National Conference for Community and Justice.
