Edna Rose Karczag

CENTERVILLE ~ Edna Rose Manrose Karczag, age 83, passed away Sat., January 15, 2000 in South Ogden, UT.
She was born July 12, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, a daughter of Ernest and Rose Matthys Manrose. She married Leo Karczag, November 4, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. He passed away May 31, 1985.
She had resided in Orlando, Florida; Detroit, Michigan; Kauai Hawaii; Klamath Falls, Oregon; and in Clearfield, Utah since 1982.
Edna was, first and foremost, a member of the Baha'i Faith. She helped establish Baha'i communities in both Kauai and Klamath Falls. The Baha'i Faith was the guiding passion of her life. She worked as a librarian, and was the director of the Klamath County Library System for 17 years, until her retirement in 1982.
She is survived by one son, Paul (Darrelyn) Karczag, Portland, Oregon; one daughter, Shari (Jerry) Meyer, Centerville, Utah; grandchildren: Alaric, Arilan and Artemas Karczag and Keturah and Lee Meyer; one sister, Florence Bell, Redlands, California. She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 South, Salt Lake City. Funeral Directors Lindquist's Layton Mortuary.
