Baha'is to celebrate Milwaukee anniversary

From the Journal Sentinel
Last Updated: March 10, 2000

Members of the Baha'i faith in southeastern Wisconsin are inviting the public to attend a buffet supper at 6 tonight with entertainment and historic slides to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first Baha'is in Milwaukee.

The event, part of a yearlong celebration, is at the Milwaukee Baha'i Center, 2526 W. Vliet St. Call (414) 342-7636 for more information.

Charlotte and Henry Morton founded the Baha'i community in Milwaukee by moving from Kenosha in 1900. The Baha'i faith, founded in what is now Iran in 1863, accepts the essential truths of all the world religions as a progressive revelation of the purpose and potential of humankind.
