Marion Jack Teaching Project

THE MARION JACK XII TRAVEL TEACHING PROJECT WILL BE GOING TO RUSSIA AGAIN THIS SUMMER - WILL YOU BE PART OF IT?

Imagine an area three times the size of the United States. Imagine how it must seem to have only about 2,000 active believers spread across that vast area.

For the twelvth time, the Marion Jack Project, under the sponsorship of the Los Angeles Spiritual Assembly, will be spending July and August assisting the Russian friends in their proclamation, teaching and consolidation work. A four-day orientation will be held in Los Angeles prior to departure.

The National Teaching Committee of the Russian Federation has written that it needs many travel teachers with a wide range of skills. Certainly not limited to, but particularly mentioned, are experience with Youth Workshops and working with children.

They have also pointed out the importance of having mature (not necessarily in age) serious Baha'is, with a firm understanding of the tenets of the Faith; social skills; ability to deal with stressful situations; flexibility; people who are prepared to uphold the high moral standards of the Faith; freedom from all forms of prejudice; sensitivity to and familiarity with cultural diversity, and the ability to give reasoned explanations of the teachings and their relationship to the very real problems facing Russians.

The needs are so great. Can you lend your assistance through joining the project or helping to deputize worthy teachers who are free to go?

With eager anticipation,
