Action-oriented spiritualism needed: Governor

BANGALORE, NOV. 12. Action-oriented spiritualism is the need of the hour, the Governor, Ms. V.S.Rama Devi, has said.

Speaking at the 183rd birth anniversary celebrations of Baha'u'llah, prophet founder of the Baha'i faith, organised by the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Bangalore, here on Sunday, Ms. Rama Devi said that though the world had made great strides in the field of information technology, there was no progress in human relations in present times.

She stressed the need for human resource development for the advance of any country. The authorities concerned should have political will to implement schemes which could transform society for the better.

Exalting the teachings of Baha'u'llah, she said in today's times when war-like situations were prevailing in many parts of the world, the teachings of the prophet about the principles of peace, social justice and equality were still relevant.

Speaking on the topic, "Moral Education -- a Baha'i Viewpoint", Ms. Zena Soli Sorabjee, one of members of the continental Board of Counsellors of the Baha'i faith in Asia, said a new process of moral education needed to be developed. Change was the order of the day and to keep up with changing times the younger generation had to make moral choices which would transform society for the better, she added.

Mr. Ganesh Shenoy, member of the Auxiliary Board of the Baha'is of Karnataka, was present.
