Interfaith Mission Service presents program on rituals

From Staff Reports - The Interfaith Mission Service will present the first
of a two-part program on Ritual in Religious Life on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. at
Faith Presbyterian Church.
Panel members from various faiths will describe the rituals in their
respective religious traditions, what roles they play, their purpose, who
leads them, who participates in them and other aspects of the importance
to the faith.
Panel members will be Darren Hiebert of the Baha'i faith, Monsignor
Michael Sexton of the Roman Catholic tradition, Flora Boardman of the
Greek Orthodox Christian church, Bill Brown of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter-day Saints, Imam Mustafa Abushagur of Islam, Judy Guerry of the
Religious Society of Friends/Quakers and Alice Dilbeck of Unitarian
Universalists.
On March 12, Ritual in Religious Life II will feature panel speakers
representing Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism and the Protestant and Pentecostal
traditions of the Christian faith.
Faith Church is at the intersection of Whitesburg Drive and Airport Road.
