Vance, Juanita J.

Juanita J. Vance, 84 of Hartford, widow of William K. Vance, passed away peacefully on Friday, (January 26, 2001) after a long illness. Born on September 23, 1916, she was raised in Brooklyn, NY. Mrs. Vance resided in Washington, DC for a brief period of time, and was employed at the Pentagon during the latter part of World War II. After the war she returned to New York City, NY where she resided before coming to Hartford in 1953. She had been employed at Connecticut General and later at Connecticut National Bank from where she retired. Mrs. Vance was of the Baha'i Faith. She leaves three sons, Victor Chandler and his wife, Joanne of Bloomfield, Philip Vance of Sherman Oaks, CA, Anthony Vance and his wife, Ladan of Cairo, Egypt; four grandchildren, Christopher Chandler and his wife Lynn, Rosemary Crawford and her husband, Dennis, Shayda Vance, Anise Vance; and two great grandchildren, Robbie and Dennis Crawford. The service will be held Thursday, February 1, 12 Noon, at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The calling hour will be Thursday, from 11 to 12 Noon. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
