An international group of performers who promote social awareness through dance is putting on a free performance at Federal Way's Saghalie Junior High School Monday evening.

The Diversity Arts Project, a nonprofit theater and dance group based in Bellevue, uses a variety of dance forms to convey messages on heavy-duty social issues such as racism, poverty, violence and drug abuse.

The nine college-age dancers come from Africa, Mexico, Nepal, Venezuela, Germany and the United States.

The performance, sponsored by the Federal Way Baha'i Community, will take place at 7 p.m. Monday in the Saghalie Junior High School Commons, 33914 19th Ave. S.W. The program is free and open to the public.

For more information, call the Diversity Arts Project at 1-206- 323-7663 or the Federal Way Baha'i Community at 253-568-0410.
