Bahais invite public to watch ceremony

Today is monumental to followers of the Bahai faith. An elaborate garden, laid out as a series of 19 linked terraces ascending the slope of Mount Carmel in Haifa, Israel, will be dedicated after a decade of work.

"Basically, it's bringing the unity of mankind together," said Siamak Rouhani, spokesman for the Spiritual Assembly of the Bahais of Colorado Springs. He said there are about 150 Bahais in the area.

The local group is inviting the public to eat breakfast and watch a satellite feed of the event from 8 to 11:30 a.m. today at its center, 4629 Park Vista Blvd. It will be replayed from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
