Rant and Rave Live!
Music makes us snap our fingers, music makes us grind our teeth. ... Some
folks had better luck than others last week when they went searching for
good live music. What have you been up to lately? Let us know at 206-464-3230
or rantandrave@seattletimes.com.

Not what they paid for
"We were ripped off! After paying $40 per seat to see David Byrne at the pier
in a show scheduled to start at 5 p.m., then listening to an hour and a half
of amateur drumming, we were told he wouldn't even show until 9:45 p.m. One
Reel should be embarrassed and owes a lot of people money!"
One big, happy party
"It was very heartening to be at WOMAD, a festival that seeks to use music
as a universal language to transcend the things that separate us and get
people just to move, dance and enjoy being with one another in a spirit of
friendship and happiness. Events such as this make me more hopeful than ever
that the people of the world will recognize that, as Baha'i founder
Baha'u'llah says, 'Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one
branch. ... The Earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.'"
