Baha'i International Deploys Argus Systems Pitbull to Protect Web Sites Containing Human Rights Information

SAVOY, Ill. (BUSINESS WIRE) - Argus Systems Group, Inc., an international leader in application security for the extended enterprise, today announced the Baha'i International Community is using PitBull(R) LX to secure its Web sites. PitBull LX makes it possible for Baha'i administrators to quickly and easily protect Web-facing servers from malicious attacks to steal information or monetary assets, launch denial of service attacks, alter data and Web pages and otherwise tamper with system and data resources.

The Baha'i Faith, with headquarters in Haifa, Israel has six million members worldwide in 235 countries and is the second largest of the world's independent religions. The Baha'i International Community (BIC), with offices in New York and Geneva, has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). The BIC participates actively in United Nations consultations dealing with a number of social issues including minority rights, the status of women, sustainable development, and the welfare of children and the family.

"I have always felt that the best way to protect a network is to lock down the operating system, but I'd never come across a product that could offer that kind of pro-active protection, until PitBull," said Thane Terrill, network administrator for BIC. "Checking logs to monitor hacker activity and hoping intruders don't break in is a level of excitement I don't need. The quality of PitBull and the support I receive from Argus are the best I've ever seen."

PitBull LX's unique patent-pending security implementation creates a secure application environment by locking down the operating system--the foundation that controls every application action across the entire computing infrastructure. With PitBull LX, software bugs, security flaws and rogue programs such as worms that could once grant an attacker system-wide access when successfully exploited are now harmlessly contained within a single security compartment.

"The Baha'i International Community is involved in an enormous amount of important social work around the world, some of it sensitive," said Randy Sandone, president and CEO of Argus Systems Group. "The threats the BIC faces are much greater than script kiddies simply defacing a home page. PitBull prevents troublemakers from penetrating the Community's network and provides unparalleled protection for its valuable resources."
