KUALA LUMPUR, Thurs.-A second conference of Religions for the Environment will be held on Oct 28 at the Rimba Ilmu Auditorium, University Malaya.

Themed ``Sustainable Development: The Spiritual Dimension'', it will feature speakers from representatives of major religions.

The conference will be held in commemoration of the Malaysian Environment Week, which falls on the fourth week of October every year.

The event will address issues of the environment and its conservation from the religious view point.

It is undertaken by Inter-faith Spiritual Fellowship (INSaf) and the Bahai Office of the Environment of Malaysia.

INSaf is an inter-religious organization comprising representatives from Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Bahai Faith and other major religions.

It aims to provide an opportunity for the participation and interaction of individuals, especially the youth, with various NGOs and religious groups so as to create a proactive attitude and a high regard for the environment.
