Religious Holidays

For Baha'is, today marks the anniversary of the BIRTH OF THE BAB, one of the twin Prophet Founders of the Baha'i faith. His 19 disciples, known as Letters of the Living, taught his religion throughout 19th-century Persia.

On Friday, Hindus celebrate DASHARA or VINJAYA DASHAMI, the triumph of the Divine Mother over evil. It also commemorates Rama's victory over the demon Ravana. It's a time when Vijaya greetings are sent to friends and relatives.
