Interfaith Thanksgiving service set for Nov. 18

The annual interfaith Thanksgiving service sponsored by the Oak Ridge Ministerial Association will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at First United Methodist Church.

During the service, area leaders of the Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Christian and Bahai faiths will offer brief thanksgiving messages and prayers.

In addition, Oak Ridge Mayor David Bradshaw will read a proclamation designating Nov. 18 as "Interfaith Thanksgiving Service Day," and an offering to assist transient persons will be received

The First United Methodist Church youth choir and handbell choir will provide musical leadership.

The public is invited to participate, and child care will be available.

First United Methodist Church is located at traffic light No. 10 at the corner of Oak Ridge Turnpike and North Tulane Avenue.
