67 people donate blood

SUBANG JAYA, Sun. - About 20 people waited patiently for over two hours to donate blood at a donation drive held at The Summit shopping complex here today.

The drive, organised by the Bahai Community Subang Jaya and Universiti Hospital, was delayed because some equipment was late in coming from the Universiti Hospital.

At the end of the day, 67 people had donated blood.

Dr R. Thurairatnam, a general practitioner, said donating blood helps keep the blood pressure stable.

"It also stimulates healthier bone marrow function."

Bahai director of external affairs Leong Yow Peng said: "We work with blood banks all over the country to see what types of blood they need and the quantity needed."

"We go all out to encourage the public to donate blood to help save someone's life."
