DAV Pushpanjali holds parents. orientation programme

MCL Saraswati Bal Mandir, Hari Nagar, participated in the annual function organised by Samarth Shiksha Samiti at Talkatora Stadium. Union Law Minister Arun Jeitley was the chief guest. The programmes included an English play .Shun Terrorism., classical song,sanskrit play .Sita Swayam Vara., Saraswati Vandana, Yoga etc.

The programme .Sur Ek Geet Anek. composed and directed by Mrs Anju Kajuria was very much appreciated and telecast on TV too.

Lady Irwin Sr Sec School celebrated its annual sports meet on February 4 and 5 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Chief guest Mr D P Mukherjee, senior advocate Supreme Court and chairman, managing committee of the school, inaugurated the meet.

The principal Mr D K Mainrai in his welcome address, spoke about the glorious tradition of the school. Students participated in a series of events, including races, high jump, long jump, shot put, discuss throw, three legged race etc. The chief guest on the second day, Mr Ajit Pal Singh, former captain Indian hockey team and guests of honour Ms Anjum Chopra Capt Womens cricket team, Dr Mangesh Teli, secretary general Bahai's of India gave away the prizes and certificates.

IBTIDA Shiksha Kendra running in the afternoon shift at DPS Mathura Road celebrated its annual day on March 22. A colourful drill, dances, art exhibition was held as part of their programme. It was a treat to the eyes to see how beautifully the children who were rag pickers till a few months back, danced to the tune of Wenga boys. Mr Abdul Baqui Alnoori an eminent educationist from Kuwait was the chief and Ms Monia Alnoori, guest of honour.

Ramjas School, Anand Parvat had an open house scholars meet on March 27. .Guru Mahima. by senior students and .Unity in Diversity. by junior kids set the mood. Prizes were given away by the chief guest, Mr Jitendra Mohan, manager, school magazine committee who lauded the team work done. The principal Mrs S L Gupta, exhorted the parents to work in union with the teachers to inculcate sensitivity and sensibility of mind. Mrs K Burmee, principal nursery & primary section presented the vote of thanks.

Kulachi Hansraj Model School (senior), Ashok Vihar, organised various workshop on personality development under the aegis of Indus Quality Foundation - an NGO propelling quantity amongst the schools. Mrs Debajit Das from IQF emphasized that character can be rebuilt, reshaped and recast into a new mould. He also elaborated various ways to achieve a tranquil, poised and contented personality and clarified many doubts raised by the teachers. School principal Mrs P Datta spoke highly about the need to build a strong character of the children in the era of degrading values.

DAV Pushpanjali organised an orientation programme for parents of LKG on March 2. This was organised to give an insight to the parents about the system of education and the curriculum pattern followed in the school for the overall personality of the child. The principal, Mrs Sneh Verma emphasized on the importance of education rights from the base, which is the main foundation, block. The orientation programme helped the parents be aware of the joint venture of teachers and parents in the overall development of their child.

The three-day workshop held at Delhi Public School, Noida, was an enriching experience for the 65 participants from 29 Delhi Public Schools from all over the country. Many important concepts of primary level mathematics were taken up and successfully simplified through discussion and appropriate use of aids by Mr Jose Paul, the maths consultant. Pictorial illustrations were also stressed upon. The participants also tackled brainteasers with great enthusiasm.

Students of Lovely Public School, Krishna Nagar plugged themselves into a musical bonanza at Chhatrasal Stadium. The director of sports Mr Satpal Singh was the guest of honour. Seven schools took part in it. The highlights of the day were .unmukt gagan ke and jai bharti., which was choreographed by Ms Meenakshi Sharma.

Darshan Academy celebrated .Family Day. with great pomp and show on March 2. The tiny tots of nursery and kindergarten presented a colourful programme to express gratitude towards all the members of their family. The parents also presented few items to express their love for the children. The chief guest of the day was Mr Dhiren M Doshi, principal, Guru Nanak Public School. The programme concluded with students presenting a self-made card to their respective parents.
