Request for inn near Point Lobos approved The state Coastal Commission has given the go-ahead for a bed and breakfast near Point Lobos. Commissioners this week approved an application to convert an old stone house, cottage and barn into a 10-unit bed and breakfast. Rancho Chiquita Associates will have to follow 46 conditions, including giving final design approval to the Coastal Commission's executive director, Peter Douglas. The Big Sur Land Trust, California State Parks Department and local environmental groups had opposed the development three years ago. But the trust and parks department agreed not to oppose the plan if the developer adheres to the conditions. The development will not change the exterior of the buildings.
