Peace Church Fall Harvest Festival Sunday

Peace Church will hold its annual Fall Harvest Festival on Sunday, Sept. 22. There will be tons of turkey, vegetables and apple squares. The public is invited. Proceeds will benefit the Befriender’s Program. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 5 to 12, free to children younger than 5, or $20 per family. The church is also celebrating its 130th anniversary as a congregation. There will be a choral reading at the worship services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. This was written by Tom Isbell, UMD Theatre professor, and will be performed by members of the congregation. First Love hosts ministry conference

A “First Love Fall Ministry Conference” will be held at First Love Full Gospel Church, 410 N. 78th Ave. W., on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 26 and 27, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2:30 p.m. A free-will offering will be received.

Baha’i hosts classes on world’s faiths

A series of classes introducing area residents to the world’s major faith traditions will be offered Monday nights from Sept. 30 through Nov. 11 at the Twin Ports Baha’i Center, 1323 Broadway, in Superior. A different religion will be covered each night. Classes begin at 7 p.m. with a formal presentation followed by refreshments and a time for questions and answers.

The series begins on Monday, Sept. 30, with an introduction to Hinduism presented by educator and businessman Mr. Koresh Lakhan; Donald Pearce, retired professor of Oriental Studies, will discuss Buddhism Oct. 7; Donald Ross of Temple Israel will provide an introduction to Judaism Oct. 14; Elder Joseph Bouie of the Church of God and Christ will talk about the emergence of black churches in the United States Oct. 21; Arshia Khan and Kishwar Feroz will give an introduction to Islam Oct. 28; Jaron Ballou will explain the fundamental teachings of the Baha’i Faith Nov. 4; and on Nov. 11 the focus will be on Native American spiritual concepts. Nordic musicians to perform Friday at UWS

Nordic musicians from Norway, Sweden and Iceland will be sharing their professional talents at Thorpe Langley Auditorium, University of Wisconsin-Superior, on Friday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Vineyard churches of Duluth and Superior. Methodist conference to consider racism, injustice

First United Methodist Church will host a three-day conference called “Justice For All: Living the Way of Jesus” Friday through Sunday, Sept. 27-29, to discover how racism and social injustice permeate our lives and learn what Christians can do to lead the cause toward social justice for all people. Dr. Rev. Dorsey Blake, an African American theologian from San Francisco, Calif., will deliver the keynote address. For more information or to register, call 727-5021.

Gospel Tabernacle to host Annie Herring concert

Turkey dinner Wednesday at Forbes UMC

A turkey dinner will be served at Forbes United Methodist Church, 33 Grove St., Proctor, on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Take-outs will be available.

Lutheran library group to meet at Elim Lutheran

Lake Superior Chapter of Lutheran Church Libraries will hold its fall meeting at Elim Lutheran Church, 6101 Cody St., at noon on Saturday, Sept. 28. 4HIM to perform at Denfeld Sunday evening

KDNW-FM will present a concert featuring the group 4HIM on Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Denfeld High School Auditorium. The concert begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through KDNW/KDNI Radio in Duluth and all area Christian bookstores. Tickets are $8 each. Jews for Jesus program set for Wednesday

Jews For Jesus will present “Christ in the Feast of Tabernacles” on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Mount of Olives Baptist Church, 3210 Decker Road. The presentation aims to enrich the church’s understanding of the gospel by going back to the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.
