Preparations for national day of mourning in Tas

Tasmania's faith communities are preparing to join the national day of mourning tomorrow for the victims of the Bali terrorist bombings.

In Hobart, there'll be a morning service at St. David's Cathedral at 10 a.m.

An 'inter-faith service' will be held tomorrow night at St. Mary's Cathedral from half past seven.

It'll be led by the Archbishop of Hobart, Adrian Doyle in the presence of the Governor of Tasmania, Sir Guy Green, who at present is Administrator of the Commonwealth of Australia in the absence of the Governor-General, Peter Hollingworth.

The Lieutenant-Governor of Tasmania, Chief Justice William Cox and the Premier, Jim Bacon will also attend.

The Administrator of St Mary's, Father Brian Nichols says many faith communities will take part, with the aim of drawing people together in rememberance.

"The intention is to bring people together from various faith traditions .. not only Christian, but also the Jewish tradition, the Muslim community, the Baha'i World Faith, the Buddhists... for us to come together for a time of reflection and remembering," Father Nichols said.
