Volunteer gains New Year MBE

A MAN who has spent 10 years as a voluntary worker in Mongolia has been honoured.
David Lambert, of Woodhead Road, Holme, received the MBE in the New Year honours.
He has devoted the past decade of his life to working in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator, where he has run training courses for would-be teachers.
Mr Lambert, 61, a former lecturer in drama and expressive arts at Bretton College, West Bretton, has also established an English library in the city.
He and his wife Lois, who returned home for Christmas and the New Year, moved to Mongolia 10 years ago after almost three years in China.
The couple, who have three children, are both members of the Bahai faith and wanted to do voluntary work.
Both joined Voluntary Service Overseas and plan to spend at least two more years in Mongolia.
