Diversity and harmony

WOODBRIDGE High School pupils had a cultural evening when they entertained members at a synagogue.

The pupils took part in the special event at the South West Essex and Settlement Reform Synagogue, which was organised by the Redbridge Council of Faiths.

Teacher Ms Thotharam performed a Kathak dance in a very fine and beautiful costume from the Indian sub-continent and there were two more dance items by Woodbridge students.

Other presentations included poetry, Gospel singing, an explanation of the Baha'i faith, African drumming and songs from Ghana.

There were also acts from Little Heath and Clore Tikva schools.

A Woodbridge spokeswoman said: "There was a celebration of diversity, yet with all present rejoicing in friendship and the evident harmony."
