Fires Damage Three Houses of Worship
LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles fire officials say federal agencies have been notified of fires that damaged three houses of worship in the San
Fernando Valley.
The blazes have occurred in Encino in the past ten days.
L.A. fire spokesman Brian Humphrey says two fires occurred Monday and one on April 26th. There were no injuries.
Humphrey says all the fires have been labeled suspicious, but details are being withheld to protect the investigation.
A Monday morning fire at the Bahai Community Center caused an estimated ten-to-12-thousand dollars in damage. Nearly 12 hours later, a fire
burned the roof of an Iranian synagogue. No damage estimates were available for that fire.
Last month's fire struck the First Presbyterian Church. It caused about 20-thousand dollars in damage.
