Lord Hutton will be assisted by an expert on suicide and a leader of the Baha'i faith, of which Dr Kelly was a member, to gain an insight into his mind and beliefs

Neighbour tell of Kelly's last hours

Her testimony, via video-link from Oxford offered another insight into the final moments of the Government scientist, whom she met as he took a walk on July 17 from which he would not return.

She told in Inquiry that she had known Dr Kelly for "a good many years" since he moved into the village of Southmoor in Oxfordshire.

She told Mr Dingemans that she lived "the width of a road" away from Dr Kelly's home.

She is one of a series of witnesses who will paint the picture of Dr Kelly's state of mind before he apparently took his own life.

The doctor's GP, an expert on suicide and a leader of the Baha'i faith, of which Dr Kelly was a recent convert, are due to follow Miss Absalom to give evidence at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.

Police and dog handlers involved in the search for Dr Kelly's body are also to assist Lord Hutton.
