Announces the First International Conference on:
Scope of Subjects
The Bábí and the Bahá'í religions reflect unique
developments in the religious life of 19th Century Shiite Islam in
General, and of Iran in particular. Indeed, the mid-19th Century
appearance of the Báb in Iran coincided with highly significant
developments in the worlds of Judaism, Christianity and Sunni Islam. The aim of
this Conference is to examine the development of the Bábí and
Bahá'í religions within the broader context of developments which
took place in the other major monotheistic religions - beginning in the
19th Century and extending to the present day.
