The issue is not one of whether there should be self-appointed priests or "Baha'iyatollahs" (though I notice you don't complain about people like yourself who appoint themselves to lobby *against* allowing a voice for scholarship critical of the dominant institutional Baha'i perspective) or even whether your religion should be liberal or conservative. The issue is whether this forum owes allegiance primarily to Baha'i interests or academic ones. If the former (as seems to be the case), then to that extent it can't really be considered academic.
