Hi Nicholas,
"When Baha'u'llah was revealing tablets, he did it at such incredible speed that his secretary would be writing so fast that he completed an entire page before the ink of the first words was dry." -- Didn't Abdul Baha say: "Miracles are not a proof. For if they are proofs for those who are present, they fail as proofs to those who are absent."? I was absent - Baha'u'llah's speed of revealing Tablets fail as a proof for me.
"Which of the world's thinkers anticipated the ending of the Cold War?" -- Where did Baha'u'llah say this?
"Baha'u'llah mastered two languages, Persian and Arabic, which I am informed are totally different from one another." -- Yes, they are. And every Iranian Muslim knows Arabic. Since you believe that Baha'u'llah was a Manifestation, did you ponder why he didn't write his famous Tablets to the rulers of the world in their native language?
"Baha'u'llah received but a token education, yet could compose verses of such eloquence and beauty that even his avowed enemies were astounded. Not only this, but Baha'u'llah mastered the art of calligraphy and his writing matched those of the greatest calligraphists of his time." -- Calligraphy and Persian poetry is exactly what Persian noblemen learnt in 19th century.
"to say he is not a prophet from God because a scientific statement he has made has not yet been verified by science seems to me to be bizarre in the extreme." -- To the best of my knowledge, problems of chronology in Baha'u'llah's Tablet of Wisdom were falsified.
"There comes a time when repeated denial becomes suspicious and I feel that it is denial for the sake of denial." -- I think that my arguments are logical. And believe me, if it was so easy to believe that there is God who sends humanity infallible prophets, I would already sign the card years ago.
A question to all the Bahais: what distinguishes a Prophet from a "great man"?
Take care,
Dave
