Hi Nick,

"It was just a few things that I, as a Baha'i, find amazing and believable according to science." -- How can you find amazing miracles that you have never witnessed (the speed of revelation)?

"However, of course no one followed this man, whereas Mohammad has had one of the biggest influences upon mankind in world history." -- And not necessarily the most positive influence. Thousands of people are killing and destrpying in the name of Allah. They are following Koran - God's holy book (as Bahais believe):

"Kill those who join other gods with Allah wherever you find them; besiege them, seize them, lay in wait for them with every kind of ambush"(9:5).

"When you encounter the unbelievers, strike off their heads, until ye have made a great slaughter among them"(47:4)

"Make war upon such of those to whom the Scriptures have been given as believe not in Allah, or in the Last Day, and who forbid not what Allah and His Apostle have forbidden....until they pay tribute"(9:29)

"Say to the infidels: If they desist, what is now past shall be forgiven them; but if they return, they have already before them the doom of the ancients! Fight then against them till strife be at an end, and the religion be all of it Allah's" (8:39)

"Proclaim a grievious penalty to those who reject faith" (9:3)

This leads me to Abdul Baha's statemet: "He should be the establisher of universal civilization, the unifier of religions, the standard-bearer of universal peace, and the embodiment of all the highest and noblest virtues of the world of humanity." And I am wondering how can Bahais regard Muhammad as a Manifestation of God after reading these verses? (By the way, the Persian Bayan also contains many verses that encourage violence against the "unbelievers").

Think about it,
David
