The Writings are in Middle English, Old English, as you say, really isn't
"English" but Anglo-Saxon; a dialect of German with many Celtic and
French loan-words. Most native English speakers have little problem with Middle
English; especially those familiar with the King James Bible (written
in 1611 A.D.). However, for people just learning Modern English, Middle
English can be difficult. There should be some small publication to
help non-native speakers understand Middle English. It isn't far from
Modern English.
