Hi,
Are you referring to Siyyid Kazim? He was the appointed successor of Shaykh Ahmad... and, when Siyyid Kazim died, he told his followers to seek out the Promised One, and travel throughout Persia. I believe there was one man who rose up and claimed to be the successor to Siyyid Kazim, and if I'm not mistaken, this man did oppose the Bab. But, keep in mind, that Siyyid Kazim never meant for their to be a successor to him; rather, he wanted his followers to seek out the Promised One.
My two cents,
Peace.
