When I asked my brother, who is a baha'i, why he did not vote in the 2000 United States Presidential election he said that according to his understanding of Baha'i principles, Baha'is cannot vote in partisan politics. He said that, from what he saw, Al Gore was the better choice for President. He felt that he exhibited better principle and character than did George W. Bush. Therefore, my question is this: Is he wrong that as a Baha'i, he is not allowed to vote for a United States President, even though he is a United States citizen? If so, why?
