Dear Vincent,

Your heartfelt comment in which you express your concern that the mixing together of diverse populations/cultures "causes too many problems to arise" is alas unfortunately true in so many instances throughout the world. It would not be difficult to compile a list of even more examples of the kinds of problems you mentioned. Baha'is, as you may or may not know, believe that Baha'u'llah is God's messenger for mankind today. Briefly, this means that Baha'is believe Baha'u'llah has provided for humanity the "remedy" that will promote the unity, happiness, and security for all the peoples of the world. It is understandable how you may view some of the values of the Baha'i Faith as being utopic since historically it appears the past generations of the world have been unsuccessful in achieving unity among its diverse peoples. One tends to believe then that this disharmony will always exist. However, for many of those persons who have familiarized themselves with the writings of Baha'u'llah, this perspective changes and the future of man's progress in this world can be seen to be bright. Baha'is believe wholeheartedly that unity in diversity is possible because of Baha'u'llah's teachings. We are in agreement that there are many problems today between the various peoples of the world. What we all really want in the final analysis is to be able to live our lives in peace. I share your concerns and am confident that God will provide assistance as we endeavor to resolve the problems we are facing today.

Best regards, Larry
