Mankind needs unity. Baha'u'llah's mission is to bring unity. One of the proofs of Baha'u'llah's station is that he has established unity between Baha'is. Take Israel as an example. Scenes of some of the worst inter-religious strife in recent years. In Haifa however, you have a 1000 Baha'is, coming from no less than 60 states ranging from Tonga to Brazil to Ukraine to Bukino Faso. All living together in perfect harmony. I have lived in India and worked at the Baha'i House of Worship there with volunteers representing 14 nations, some coming from countries I had previously never even heard of. Despite the immense pressures on us due to work, we coped admirably, and there existed such love between us, that even if someone left after a week of service to go home, there would invariably be tears wept on all sides.
What is wrong with utopian visions? Baha'u'llah offers the solutions to all the world's problems. He said that the world was but one country and mankind its citizens 150 years ago, during the age of imperialism and nationalism. Yet today his words are coming true. Do we want a vision which we know has flaws in it? Is that better than a vision which we can see nothing wrong with? How logical is that? I look at all the prevailing theories to advance peace and harmony in the world, and I go with the best one. And that is Baha'u'llah's, and what is more, it works.
Believe what you might about the Faith's truth, but you cannot deny the indisputable fact that there is something contained within its writings which has brought unity between peoples of contenting cultures, religions and ethnicities which no other force in the history of mankind has succeeded in.
"O friend of mine! The Word of God is the king of words and its pervasive influence is incalculable. It hath ever dominated and will continue to dominate the realm of being. The Great Being saith: The Word is the master key for the whole world, inasmuch as through its potency the doors of the hearts of men, which in reality are the doors of heaven, are unlocked."
