Parental Conscent in older adult marriages

This is a situation which seems problematic to me: prejudicial attidtudes of parents when deciding to deny conscent for marriage. If two adults (age 45) aske for permission for marriage, but one parent (age 75) declines conscent because the woman is "too old, and can't bear children anymore, and is the wrong nationality" do we just quietly say "accept it"? Is this not prejudice, and thus needs to be addressed?
