Do animals go to heaven?

Hello everyone!
I was wondering in our faith, do animals go to heaven? It doesnt make sense that they wouldnt. Could you please explain and use referenced if possible for your opinion. I heard that the Bahai faith teaches that they dont and this disturbs me. In fact one Bahai laughed at me when I said I believed animals go to heaven, saying it is ridiculous.
