To Brett

You quote:

"Baha'u'llah states, in the Kitab-i-Aqdas:

"Should anyone intentionally destroy a house by fire, him also shall ye burn; should anyone deliberately take another's life, him also shall ye put to death. Take ye hold of the precepts of God with all your strength and power, and abandon the ways of the ignorant." (paragraph 62, on-line at http://bahai-library.org/writings/bahaullah/aqdas/aqdas.html)"

This seems to me to be so contrary to Abdul Baha's original quote about forgiveness, posted by Ben Yehudah, can you reconcile the two?

(It does seem that the father and the son do not share the same views in numerous instances. Is it possible that the son was more politic than the Prophet? I, myself, much prefer the writings of the Son, but it is the Covenant of the Father which we must follow. Therefore, I ask for a reconciliation between the two messages.)
