The following was posted by Munir A. Qureshi (203.175.65.136) on January 13, 2002 at 13:40:55. It was very sensitive, even sorrowful, and asked very important questions which have not, in my opinion, been answered. He begins with a quote:
ã37. Whoso layeth claim to a Revelation direct from God, ere the expiration of a full thousand years, such a man is assuredly a lying impostor. We pray God that He may graciously assist him to retract and repudiate such claim.
Should he repent, God will, no doubt, forgive him. If, however, he who persisteth in his error, God will, assuredly, send down one who will deal mercilessly with him. Terrible, indeed, is God in punishing!
Whosoever interpreteth this verse otherwise than its obvious meaning is deprived of the Spirit of God and of His mercy which encompasseth all created things. Fear God, and follow not your idle fancies. Nay, rather, follow the bidding of your Lord, the Almighty, the All-Wise. Erelong shall clamorous voices be raised in most lands. Shun them, O My people, and follow not the iniquitous and evil-hearted. This is that of which We gave you forewarning when We were dwelling in 'Iráq, then later while in the Land of Mystery, and now from this Resplendent Spot.ä
Munir continued (edited for clarity):
After Bahaâuâllahâs declaration, a person in India claimed in India that the period of Islam still continued and that God had appointed Him as a Prophet of Islam and He was a ÎPromised Messiahâ& Mehdi_Masoudä and that God had directly appointed Him to prove that Islam was still the true living religion of his time.
All of His life He stood firm on His claim and the prophecy of Kitab-e Aqdas was never applied to Him. Ironically, the English government provided this false prophet with total security. God didnât ãsend down one who will deal mercilessly with him.ä
Moreover, He (the false prophet) declared that God had promised Him that He (God) would protect Him from the harm of human persons. This false prophet also succeeded to establish His own religious community and His community spread all over the world. Why didnât the prophecy of Kitab-e-Aqdas apply on that person? Please explain.
END OF MUNIRâS PLEA FOR UNDERSTANDING.
Has anyone provided Munir with a convincing answer?
If not, I shall make the effort.
