First of all let me say that I found your post most interesting. It's always nice to read messages posted by those who possess specialist knowledge that are written in a manner that none specialists (such as myself) can understand and learn from. There was, however, a question that occured to me as I was reading through your message that I would appreciate your further comment on.

This I understand. However, I am interested to know what it is that causes specialization? Why are certain simple bacteria subsummed into eukaryotic cells that eventually develop into ants, while others develop into pumas, others blue whales and still others human beings?
