My wife is a Dental Hygienist, and her sister, and her husband are both Dentists. They all recommend using certain mouth rinse products for you oral health.

Mouth washes do not contain alcohol for drinking, and I think it would be unfortunate if somebody drank very much, because it is toxic and would make you ill.

It is okay to use alcohol as a medicinal as directed by a physician, that would include a doctor of dentistry.

The prohibition of drinking alcohol comes from the verse:

"It is inadmissible that man, who hath been
endowed with reason, should consume that which
stealeth it away."
(Baha'u'llah, The Kitab-i-Aqdas, p. 62)

Clearly rinsing with a product to prevent decay and gum disease, which isn't even drank, is not a threat to you "reason" which is the wisdom of why it's forbidden.

Cleanliness and good health practices are important in the Faith too.

If you are in doubt definitely ask The UHJ as Jonah suggested.
