For a moment there I thought that I had found an "out" based on a medical recommendation! (Well, technically it would have been the relative of a dentist's recommendation!) While it wouldn't have been a prescription per se, nobody "prescribes" something like mouthwash that you can just buy over-the-counter anyway.

The fact that the medical advice would have been general, and not to me personally, might well render it invalid for Baha'i purposes where a doctor's permission is required. (If Dr. Deepak Chopra goes on Oprah recommending us to drink daily glasses of wine, can Baha'is follow his medical advice? Somehow I suspect that this would be too easy.)
