Dear Simon,
Just a couple thoughts. I don't know if it would be fair to say that those doctrines are all "in error" in that they were interpretations based on the understanding and world-view of the people of that time. Baptism was a symbol for the spiritual transformation that belief in Christ represented. Satan was a way of expressing one's lower self, and is not inaccurate, as long as we understand it is a metaphor. The Trinity is a doctrine that is not in the Bible, but is an interpretation based on certain passages in the Scriptures about the relationship between Christ and God. They were all sincere understandings based on what Scripture was available to them, but we have so much more now with the Revelation of Baha'u'llah. Our understanding of spiritual reality increases with every Manifestation. The Trinity is not, even from a Baha'i view, wholly inaccurate, as long as we understand that it is a metaphor, as is Satan, baptism...etc. Much friendship, kendal
