You see, if English "pioneer" came first, then got back-translated into Arabic and whatnot, then this suggests that Baha'is were influenced by...well, the several other movements that the English word "pioneer" calls to mind.
If the Arabic came first, then obviously somebody wanted to compare Baha'i pioneers with the Meccan Muharajun...but then, why would this usage come to be preserved in Persian Baha'i argot, but not in Arabic Baha'i argot?
