From the beginning of the Christian faith there have been opponents to God and his cause. Satan for example in Christian term is a personification and manifested by a fallen angel. Christ himself came across Judas. Muhammad and Muayieh, The Bab with Haji Mirza Aqasi and Baha'u'llah with Seyyid Muhhamad'i Esphani.
This two latter are I go as far as to say acording to Christian and Islamic terms prophesised in a sense. the spirit of the Anti Christ was most undoubtedly manifested by the vizer and the whisperer to Mirza Yahya, who took his council. The Bab in one of his tablets refers to Haji Mirza Aqasi as Satan himself. And Baha'u'llah makes reference to the Dajjal in Gems of Divine Mystery..."Where is the promised Dajjal?" The last two charecters acording to the texts are the promised Anti-Christ figures that would contend with and be defeated by the returning Promised Ones, i.e. The Bab and Baha'u'llah. If one reads up on the Haji Mirza Aqasi, in particular Gobineau's notes; speak of Muhammad Shah himself was so influenced and directed by Haji Mirza Aqasi--"his god". Enlightening I think that the actual manifestions of evil were present and battled with the founders. How great it was to know that they were just "speed bumbs" standing in the way of divine will. The Bab's Sermon of Wrath, a tablet delivered and read in the pressence of Haji Mirza Aqasi, is nothing short of God telling satan, "you have one last chance before I destroy you" has not been translated yet. I feel this topic is important for discussion in the hopes of others adding and commenting on the pure fullfillment of all fortold prophecy. We can tell the evanegelics and Sunni's now that Dajjal did come and oppose God, but yet he is no more.
Muhammad Shah was so posioned by Haji Mirza Aqasi that he often bragged that his tutor could perform miricles and would bid others to observe him. Haji himself was a sufi, a strange cooincidence being that the fortold Dajjal would be a kafir,"unbeleiver". Gobineau goes on to state that the vezir and the Shah cared little about the holy imams and only payed little respect to Ali because of his history with Persian culture and heritage. So one could prove according to the Shi'a traditions that Haji Mirza Aqasi was the Anit-Christ, satan and Dajjal, he fuffilled prophecy in the worst of ways.
Seyyid Muhammad'i Isphani was a Babi. Mirza Yahya position is somewhat unique, he is not refered to as the aformentioned characters at all, The Guardian simply says he was the Arch-Breaker of the Covenant of The Bab. However, Isphani was the "Anti-Christ of the BAHAI REVELATION". Note the differences in sequence, The Babi revelation had its Anti-Christ and now Baha'u'llah and His revelation has its own "opponent(s)". Mirza Yahya was a feeble and easily persuaded character, and surely not a born leader, he was a coward. Isphani influenced him to go against Baha'u'llah. If there was no Aqasi, or Isphani, this 20yr old goes as far as to say that the whole world would be Baha'i by now.
Isphani desired leadership and saught it through animating his will through Mirza Yahya, who, appointed by the Bab had a unique posistion. We know now that Mirza Yayha's destiny was to be as a barrier in the early days before and during Baghdad to protect the divinely incubating revelation stirring in Baha'u'llah. Mirza Yayha was revered as the successor of the Bab, he often received questions and praise from the Babis, yet being who he was had nothing but un-insightful comments to say and lavished and glorified himself in vanity. When Baha'u'llah retreated to the mountains, Yayha was in charge, it was at this time that he let one of Baha'u'llah's sons die and the community sank into near oblivion. Not until Baha'u'llah came back did fresh breathes of stiring motivation and utterance enter into the near dead Babi community.
Ishphan'i the whole time was as Aqasi was to the king, a confidant and advisor. Nothing but poision came from him. I have not done all the resarch I would like to about him simply because the real sources are still in the archives untranslated. The 2nd volume to the Dawn Breakers (the times of Baghdad and thereafter) has not been translated yet. I cant wait!
