Beleif and action in Masonry are two different things. The simple fact that I or you belong to a secret mens club is apealing to the male ego. Masons are however, I must argure in some of the most powerful positions of the world. Being that as it may, Baha'is, may be friends with and associate with masons as brothers and fellow human beings. However, given their obvious and undoubted "fiddling" with world destiny (World peace from a Baha'i view) shows that there are egotistical motives behind the societies perogatives; i.e. "We/I were behind that one." Masons are involved politically and economically in world affairs, given that, Baha'is cannot and should particpate in their rituals and exersises. I was offered membership into the masons but humbily declined, at the same time mentioning the faith to the friend I had/have. true there are parallel principles, However we as Baha'is beleive in guidance from our infallible central figures, The Bab, Baha'u'llah, AbdulBaha, Shoghi Effendi and the supreme istitution, The Universal House of Justice. I doubt that any of them were ever associated or members of the Masionic Society.
Therfore dear Joe, that is my reasoning.
