Greetings all,
I wanted to share with any Macintosh users that there is a nice new (free) program for the Macintosh called Sogudi. It installs itself into your Safari browser (thus the clever, "Safari Sogudi" name). This program allows you to type in shortcuts in the Safari URL window to do searches/finds at for your own customizable sites. For example, I have customized my own "Sogudi" so that I can enter "ka " followed by a space and a number within the URL window (e.g., "ka 45") and this will bring me to a page of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas at Jonah's site (in this case page 45 of the Kitáb-i-Aqdas at http://bahai-library.org/writings/bahaullah/aqdas/kaall.html#45). I have also set up Sogudi shortcuts (using Yahoo's search engine) to search subdomains within the Bahá'í Library site (enabling one the useful feature as to be able to search all of the Sacred Writings alone (or even just the contents of one book alone)).
In the event it could be of use to anyone else, I have uploaded my own preferences list with these good number of shortcuts that I have already added (for all of the Bahá'í Writings titles and a few other sites) already loaded. If you copy the text of the file I have uploaded at this page into a text file on your local hard-drive and then save it as "SogudiShortcuts.plist" and then put the file into your Home:Library:ApplicationSupport folder (replacing the one that Sogudi will install for you; first install Sogudi--see below), you should then have access to all of these shortcuts I have added. You can also view them (and alter or delete them if you wish) within Safari by clicking on "Sogudi" under the "edit" menu once Sogudi is installed (see below).
You can download Sogudi at http://www.atamadison.com/w/kitzkikz.php.
Feel free to email me if you are unclear about any of these instructions ( brettz9 AT yahoo.com ). I can't make any guarantees about Sogudi, but it has been working fine for me and everyone at Version Tracker has been giving it good reviews too...
best wishes,
Brett
