I can understand not only your search but your question as well. I was raised
in the Episcople Church so there is very little doctrinal difference
between what I grew up with and the issues you are dealing with now. All
I can say is that, as I began my investigation into the Baha'i Faith,
I learned to do something I had not been taught in the Church. I learned
to listen to my heart as well as to my head in this matter of spiritual
education.
It sounds like you have done a great deal of research already. Please let
me recommend a couple of other source you might want to look at. These
are sources I have used both personally and in facilitating a 2 month
course on creating a Christian/Baha'i Dialogue. The first is a series of
very informative but easily read books by Michael Sours. It is the
"Christian Dialgoue Series" and it deals specifically with the issues
you seem to be trying to deal with right now. The other is Gary
Mathews' book, "He Cometh with the Clouds" (it might be He Walketh with
the Clouds -- Sorry, I don't have the book in front of me.).
