I am doing a video documentary of the history of the Baha'i Faith
as it parallels the histories of the adventist and pietist movements
in Christianity. The focus is on the Millerites and the German Templers.

In the interest of historical accuracy I am trying to determine if there
was an actual document dated March 21, 1844 which could be identified as
the Edict of Toleration. I have seen this topic discussed before, but
the discussion was inconclusive.

I am aware of the "Tanzimat" reforms initiated by Abdu'l Mecid I and pursued
between 1839 and 1876, but an unable to identify an 1844 document.

Can anyone steer me to some sources on this question?

Thanks for your help.
